My Rheummy consultant told me he was going to put me on Remicade it has risks but nowhere near the others it had a one in ten chance of anything happening, I looked at Fran and said that will do for me he said several tests to be done and the injection next week and can take 3 months to kick in, Then the head of the hospital Rheummy with her team came in then she examined me and when she touched a part of my shoulders I jumped with the pain or shock then she mentioned Fibromyalgia as this could sometime show up the same symptoms as RA so at the same time as the tests for Biological they will check for Fibromyalgia then meet again on Thursday when decisions will be made, Feeling a lot better now so is Fran.

Glad you are feeling better about things now Matt. It's horrible having to make these decisions, I know, but at least you don't have to decide over different medications as that decision has been taken away from you. One less thing to worry about. Hope Thursday comes quickly for you and that you quickly get some relief. Clemmie
That is really good news you have had such a positive outcome. I wish you all the very best with Remicade and hope it brings some pain relief quickly. Sounds like you have a good rheumy team who will look after you well. Must be a huge relief for you, so glad you have had a successful appointment.
Hi Matt your in a very difficult situation. It seems at least now your rheumy has maid a choice for you. Hope you get some relief soon xx
I was on remicade (infliximab) for about ten years. It worked really well for me, but best with methotrexate. I hope it does it for you! I think there's a gradual build up followed by infusions every 2 months. Maybe we will meet in the daycare unit!
Best, C

If you get outa that hospital mr! I might bring grapes if not lol!
Good news re biologicals, now rest up , get that pain under control whilst you can and get these meds on the go, and don't do what I did and worry all the way through the infusion !!!!!!!! And be stroppy with nurses!!! Xx
Well that is good news. I hope it all feels better soon for you. Fibro is insidious, but don;t let them just fob you off with that as your only diagnosis.
Hello I have been on Remicade for 12 yrs and have never had any problems it is a miracle drug. I wish you the beast.
Good news Matt, I hope it all goes well for you. If they diagnose Fibromyalgia and RA will you still be able to have the remicade? I have Fibromyalgia had it for over 15 years, now trying to get a diagnosis of what's causing my inflammation in my fingers (not joints) Rheumy not sure what it is, just taking 400mg Hydroxychloroquine at the moment, but not doing anything so far, been on it 7 months now. Do hope they sort you out soon, good luck.
