I broke some ribs a few days ago and my RA has suddenly flared. Can anyone explain this? I have only taken some strong pain relief along with my regular sulfasalazine.

Hi Pat64,
So sorry to hear about your broken ribs. I hope you recover from them soon. There are many possible triggers that can cause a flare. One of them is stress and I would imagine that breaking your ribs could be very stressful. I have put a link below to an article on flare-ups that you may like to look at:

Ouch, poor you! And there's not that much you can do for broken ribs apart from painkillers I believe. I strange what sets us off isn't it, virus and stress are mine! I hope you make a speedy recovery xx
