now I have evidence of my diagnosis and an explanation as to my pain and difficulty with my mobility is this enough for me to receive high rate mobility.
Hi,I have just been diagnosed as suffering from rheum... - NRAS
Hi,I have just been diagnosed as suffering from rheumatoid arthritis,at present I am in receipt of high rate care but low rate mobility,
As far as I understand, any award is related to your mobility no matter what disease causes the problem, so if that hasn't changed then the award won't be affected. However if you're in receipt of DLA or PIP and anything changes you need to inform the DWP, so now you know your diagnosis you'll need to tell them. I would suggest contacting your local CAB for advice as they can assess whether you're getting the benefits you're entitled to.
Hi Sailaway, thank you for your reply I contacted the DLA this morning to notify them and I will send them a copy of the results,I am now waiting for a call back which can take up to five days,in the meantime I will take your sound advice and contact CAB,once again many thanks

thank you for this information Beverley
No. On its own, the diagnosis doesn't make one bit of difference to whether you get high rate mobility. Its all about how much the disease affects you (i.e. how disabled you are). You can in fact get high rate mobility without a diagnosis at all, as long as you can demonstrate to their satisfaction that you are very limited in how much you can walk without undue pain or distress.
Hi,thanks for your reply it seem the DLA are being very strict as I have been in pain on a daily basis for months and have limited mobility, at times i'm in tears with the pain, the fact that I had no medical evidence to prove why this was the case until only a few days ago I have been awarded the low rate mobility.
