A query.... having RA for 3 years or so now. With limited( if any) mobility at times..does this qualify as disabled?
Hiya, as with all claims, it isn't the illness that you get benefits for it is how you are effected by the illness with your day yo day activities, daft as it may seem.

So you think if debilitating enough it is considered? I mean do they consider Ra as a disability? Like blindness is or ms etc . Ra is of course unseen until it kicks in as it were.
Any chance of talking to rhumy team, GP or social services. It is not the illness itself which will qualify you but how much it limits you.
Hi mohikan22
NRAS has a publication on 'how to claim personal independance payment' - this might be helpful? Link to the publication is here nras.org.uk/publications/ho...
You can always call the NRAS helpline on 0800 298 7650 and they can give you lots of information.
Kind regards
Kim

Hi, I have had RA for 5 years and have had a Disabled Badge since I was first diagnosed so I guess we can be classed as disabled.
Thank you for the replies. I shall have a word in the docs ear on Tuesday
