Remember it's the holiday weekend so don't delay. My knees are very painful today too. Maybe weather? But obviously much more. I hope you can take it easy

Hope it eases Cathie, I do think the heat and humidity can aggravate our already tender and sort joints x

I do think there's some truth to that. When I lived in Spain the heat in the height of summer affected my joints as much as when it's cold, damp weather. Ring the docs & rest it up if you can. Hope you both feel some relief soon & have a happy Easter. I find Dr. Chocolate works wonders!! (Can't tell you what my husband used to put in it for me, but it was legal there!)

Chocolate ummm. When I first had RA and it wasn't well controlled, I had to work in Morocco (just visits). People there told me that I should go to a therapeutic place in the desert where they bury you in sand for a little while (with head sticking up obvs) and apparently it works wonders - just for a while though.

While we can always have that stash of chocolate waiting for us can't we.

Have either of you tried that capsaicin cream? I was offered that and tried one whole tubes worth. Cant say it did a lot.

Not tried the capsaicin cream yet but have done a little research. Meant to ask my GP his opinion & if he'd prescribe it when I saw him last week but forgot to put it on my list (what a surprise!). Would be interested to hear if anyone else has used it & whether or not it helped though.

I think the main thing it did for me was to distract me from knee pain. It is hot and you have to be very careful with washing afterwards and watching for your eyes

Hi made an appointment to go the docs at 5.20pm been on 2 x Tramadol and had 4 paracetamol and it started easing so cancelled the docs. Hope it doesn't come back like that again. Thank you Rose

I had capsaicin cream when I had longterm pain with shingles. It helped a bit. I don't think it would help my RA pain though, it was severe nerve-endings pain, not as deep as joints. M x

Capsaicin cream does take some of the ouch out of my knees but I find I got used to it after a few days so then not that much help. Not sure if it is to be used only short term? I thought it did say that on my label on the tube. Hope your knees calm down for you soon. The only thing that does anything for me lately is a steroid injection as my knees are massive. x

Try sitting for a few minutes, and imagine you have a hot water bottle.Think of the hot water coming out of the bottle, and pouring it over the pain, try closing your eyes to do this if you can,and focus on the warmth of the water flowing over the the affected area.hope this helps.

Hi try sitting for a bit and imagine a hot water bottle, visualize the hot water coming out of the top of bottle and flowing over the pain,if you can try doing this with your eyes shut it should take pressure off the pain, hope this helps.x

I am suffering from the same problem as my right knee is so very sore, a recent x ray has described my problem as a severe case of osteoarthritis, which makes me a candidate for a joint replacement, although I am not to keen on the idea the pain is the deciding factor. So the quicker I can have it done the better.
