Just had to share a glimmer of good news after all my recent whinging posts. I had a voicemail while at work asking me to call the hospital regarding an appointment. I thought it was probably general surgery, either to follow up my recent surgery or my thyroid ultrasound although I wasn't expecting either. However, it was a rheumy appointment!!!!! I know my GP was writing to the consultant who treated me so badly in November 2012 to tell him about my scatty blood results to see if he wanted to review his diagnosis but I honestly thought he'd tell me to bugger off. I actually told my doctor I was grateful for his efforts but I wasn't holding my breath. Obviously he worded his letter in such a way that they've decided to at least see me. I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up that they'll really listen to me and do more than prod my hands this time but I tend to be ridiculously optimistic in the face of overwhelming evidence for doom where these things are concerned. Luckily I'd gone out into the hospital grounds to make the call as I was so grateful I had trouble holding back the tears. I'm sure I'll
go through the whole gamut of emotions between now and 6th May and I'll be a quivering wreck expecting the worst on the day but, for now, I'm relieved and hopeful x

That's great new's why the hell should you not be positive some times these doctors are far to big for their stethoscope's lol they think they are always right and don't listen to them that are actually feeling it.You go for it good luck xxx
Hi mistymena, Good news about your Rheumy appointment and well done to your GP, and we agree that the best way is to write everything down and a few days before your app pick out your worse episodes and give them to your Rheumatoligist to read, The Rheumy Doc said after my first two visits he could not see any RA on me at all then I took out a photgraph showed it to him and said that what RA does to a normally a happy go lucky 62 year old it turns you into a Sniviling Overweight Wreck and who at times have to hide away so you dont hurt the ones you love, Good Luck Mattcass
I agree with allanah! I took photos of everything from swollen, red toes and fingers to bouts of raynauds in my fingers. It really helped get a diagnosis for me since I am seronegative for RA.
