I'm still not totally convinced my joint pain and strange nobbled bumps on my fingers and toes are all down to fibromyalgia, so I'm gonna ask for a full body scan. If my doctor fobs me off, I'll look for a new doctor who will listen to me. That's my #1 resolution for 2014. X

Happy New Year everyone.
You go girl! U just know yourself don't you ! Xxx
Doctors think that because they've studied all their books and sat all their exams, they're gonna know everything about every patient they treat. ABut the only person who truly knows us, is ourselves. I sometimes wonder how some doctors-mine included-manage to even qualify! X
The chances of a GP being able to refer you for a full body MRI are quite slim, as this is a hugely expensive thing and there is normally a massive demand for the machine and referrals are restricted to hospital consultants (depends on your area of course, but in many places there aren't enough). So might be a more achievable goal to ask that for your hands and feet to be assessed by ultrasound. Ultrasound is said to be very good as a diagnostic for RA as it shows up inflammation a lot better than x-ray.
