Blotchy red rash

I am on mtx and infliximab (due the next infusion next week). I have woken up this morning with an angry blotchy/spotty rash all over my back, chest and stomach. Slight rash on arms and legs. What is going on? I have just finished a course of anti-biotics for a throat/ear infection - is it linked to this?

Hello, I would give your rheumy nurse/rheumatologist a call asap to get their advice. You could also go to your nearest Urgent Care Centre/ A &E to get it checked out. When I had a serious rash on my chest and face I was given anti-histamine intravenously and a short course of steroids (but I also had other things like a tight throat etc). I can't say whether it's linked to the anti-biotics but hopefully the rheumy nurse should be able to answer that. Take care, Fran.

Saw the GP this morning. She is unsure what it is but have just had FBC and Liver bloods done. Got to go back on Wed a.m when the results should be in.

Glad to hear you managed to see your GP. Fingers crossed for the test results and hope the rash has subsided now.
