Red rash

Hi all. I have a red rash that starts on one cheek and goes over my nose and onto the other cheek. I have had it for a while now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. X

Sounds like Rosacea, which I have. It can also be a symptom of Lupus, but this is much less likely. You need to see your GP who should refer you to a dermatologist.

Does it look like a malar rash/ butterfly rash? As that is a symptom of lupus, and some people with RA have a cross-over with lupus (rhupus).

Either that or a simple rosacea rash - which is a pain in the butt but treatable for the most part.

Could be lupus, as helixhelix says. You can prob find a picture of a typical lupus rash by googling.

Take a picture and follow up with your doctor. Make note of any other symptoms you may be experiencing as well.

I get a rash when I am flareing, but been tested for lupus and it was negative , just RA

I also immediately thought malar or butterfly rash - Lupus or Rhupus as you have RD. It could that or eczema. Is this a recent occurrence or has your Rheumy seen it?
