Hi people, I've recently joined a football team and I have been playing non stop football. I played my first game today, I played for 20 minutes out if the 80 and the back of my legs started to feel like they were burning I have never felt anything like this before, what could it be? Thanks.

Bad legs
Hi there, it's hard to say what it could be, if your legs still feel like they're burning on Monday I'd suggest going to see your GP. If it's really bad and you can't wait until then, you could call your doctor's out-of-hours line (if they have one) or NHS Direct. Hope you feel better soon.
I agree with Fran, Best to have a word with the doctor as they could be lots of reasons why your legs are painful. Hope you get sorted soon so you can "keep up," that was a pun on keepie up LoL xx
see doc, but, you say you are playing 'non stop' .. that could be a reason, maybe you have just 'overworked' your legs........
I am a big fan of football, especially local high school football, have 4 sons, all grown now, one is a doctor...The most likely reason is very common, Your muscles have been over used and your Electrolytes have been lowered, especially Sodium and Potassium. It is usual practice here with football players to keep Gatorade, or some such drink available on the sidelines for players to sip on during the game. See your doctor, let him know what's happening, tell him how it goes in a game, he likely will say the same thing. Most any of the Sports Drink will contain the right balance of Electrolytes. Good luck, hope you're winning with those runs!
