Is it possible to feel worse in first weeks/months after mabthera infisions?

My mom have extremly agressive RA. This november she took her two rituximab infusions. After that she felt her RA symptoms became harder and even steroid prior didn’t help her. Now we have 2 weeks after 2nd infusion passed and mom feels more and more bad, pain and weakness keep growing. We know mabthera is slow med and sometimes it takes 2-4 months before you feel emrovement. But I worry about that initial aggravation. Did anyone experience the same?

My rheumy told me it was reasonably common to have an initial flare up after the infusion (I had one but it was only slight). I hope your mom starts to feel better soon.
