Flu/pneumonia jab same day as mtx .

Hiya everyone,please could anyone answer my question as I'm having my flu/pneumonia jab tomorrow morning and just before I will be taking my mtx?is this all safe to do if anyone knows I would be so grateful.happy Sunday to you all Michelle xxx

I think this question came up on here a few weeks ago and someone answered it based on advice from the clinic. For the life of me I can't remember what the answer was.............but I would say that taking your MTX a day earlier or later won't do you any harm, I sometimes adjust based on what i'm doing at the weekend. As others have said a quick phone call should provide the definitive answer

Hello BOB here.

According to what I understand the injections are not vital so they should be ok. These injections are given to patients with weak immune systems

Mind I would still ask the nurse who will know the way to go

This year I had mine several weeks ago and I had the devil of a cold that is just drying up now, I understand there can be problems,with contra indications. So take advice

Hi yes its fine to have it on the same day, I had the same question last week so I phoned my rheumy and she said it is fine on the same day as the flu injection is not live .

Hi Wendy I'm having pneumonia one too so I think I will ring and make sure as flu is not live but is pneumonia,I haven't a clue lol !! Thankyou everyone for ur advice I will for sure ring or ask beforehand xxx

Hi , I had the two done together last week I have been fine . The flu jab gave me a hard swelling for the week but apart from that I was fine . x

Hi, I had the flu jab on my mtx day a few weeks ago. I must admit I felt a little run down and achey in the week after the jab but the nurse said I was ok to have it. I had the pneumo jab last year with no adverse reactions but ringing to check seems a good plan x

Thankyou everyone I'm reassured I can have flu jab on same day but still not sure about pneumonia one too it seems a lot all in one day but I am a wuss lol !!,but I will ask when I get there,if I brave driving in the winds and rain that is haha !!! Xx

Good morning just to let you know I had my flu and pneumonia jab this morning,both are inactive so nurse said it was fine to do both on my mtx day.hope this helps anyone else concerned about this issue.thanks Michelle x
