Hi everyone, hope you are all pain free, I have been to see my Rheumy today and after just coming off steroids everything is starting to hurt again so she put me on Hydroxy, I am already on MTX and Sulfa, has anyone any advice about these 3 together?

Regards and gentle hugs,

Wendy xx

I take those three together, and it works well for me. Each did a bit, but it was only once I took the full & complete cocktail that my RA really calmed down. It took a while! So hope it works as well for you. Polly

no, but i know the coming off steroid feeling!!! hope the hydroxy kicks in quickly xx

Unfortunately its a slow acting drug but hopefully it will enable the other two drugs to work more efficiently very soon. Xx

Yes I'm on all three MTX being the last one added so still waiting for them to kick in!

Hydroxychloroquin takes a few months to build up in your system. Be patient.

I've been on all 3 for 4 months and RA is still very active but my GP assures me they will work! So I'm hanging in there. I think if I wasn't on this combination I wouldn't even be able to get out of bed in the morning, so they must be doing something. Lots of luck, hope it works for you x

Yes, I've been on these three for about five years now, and not had any problems. Rheumy did advise to have regular eye tests, I think yearly, and I do that. Hope you get some relief soon.

I could be on three dmards soon as well, that apparently is the next stage if I am able to keep on the metx. I had been taking sulpha and metx, hate taking the daily dosage as I thought it was not doing much. I have had my eye test done so that is why I am thinking hydroxy next. Good luck hope it works for you.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I will let you know how I get on, I have to get the prescription next week from GP. It does seem as if it is helping everyone.

Hi Nellysgran

I was just wondering how you were getting on with taking all three sets of RA drugs. I'm already on MTX and sulphazaline but after a visit to RA clinic this morning my doctor has also put me on hydroxychloroquine (400mg a day).

Hi I am on MTX, Sulph, and Hydroxy but not having much success at the moment and now my consultant wants to put me on Biologics. Hopefully Hydroxy will work for you, as it does for a lot of people.xx
