Hi I have no advice,I've gone from 5hrs disturbed sleep to 10/12 hrs, I think it's just part of the course. I used to dream of the day when I could get a proper nights sleep & now I find it difficult to stay awake, you can't win!!

Hi manwithnoname,

Think you might just have to go with the flow- this disease makes all of us so very tired and exhausted. I have gone through similar myself and really there was nothing to do but sleep- i have lost complete weekends as all I have done is move from bed to the sofa and back again. Your body is needing the rest so give yourself a break and let it happen. It will get better- promise

Hugs

I find that i will be down here at silly o'clock because i can't sleep. Like as has been said go with the flow. I have stopped worrying about lack of sleep and i think you should do the same. Just think it is only until you see your dr next week. The more you worry the worse the problem becomes. Hugs.xxx

look at it this way if your body is letting you sleep its reparing itself

we dont sleep because of nothing its your body telling you that it needs to rest so i would not worry to much about it have the rest while you can

When first diagnosed 10 years ago and before the drugs kicked in I couldn't sleep for pain for 12 months. Now I sleep for England! As someone has already said 'go with the flow' The tiredness and the inability to concentrate means I have had to give up full time work. Try to resist the afternoon naps (difficult) but it is our bodies telling us what we need to do. As we are told get some exercise, which I do but then know that even more rest is required/demanded.

When I start to sleep a lot is sometime, for me, the beginning of a flare. The second phase will be pain and waking up every 2 to 3 hours to take pain killers and lack of concentration. The last phase will be stiffness that last most part of the day, heavy sweating and my hands and joints are burning. At this point, I ring the Rheumy nurse and get a kenalog injection.

Like the other people say, this disease will vary from person to person. If I were you, I would keep a diary of how you're feeling everyday to see whether it develops into a flare.

It is important to know what is happening with our disease and how flares develop. It is only in this way that you can become pro-active and seek medical help before the disease interferes so much that you have to give up things that you like to do.

On the other hand, your need to sleep could simply be due to your body needing the sleep. Just keep a diary everyday and you'll find out.

Pineapple_head has just put what I was going to say! When I get really really exhausted it is usually the onset of a flare up, which means only a couple of hours rest at a time. Good idea also to write it down, and then see if a pattern emerges. x

Could it just be you are back home father a wonderful holiday in your homeland and your body is just saying I need a rest? So I would go with what your body needs and sleep. Don't forget you had. Busy few weeks before u went away with he conference and packing etc, maybe it's just catching up with u mate? But whatever, thinking of you of course xxxxx
