Hi Sylvi, sorry you feel so bad. I am also in the middle of a full scale flare but see my consultant next week and I am on Anti TNFs as well as MTX so they don't guarantee you won't get a flare. It sounds as if you need to be on anti TNFs anyway. I am surprised they have left you so long without that extra help.
A steroid injection should help pretty quickly. When I have them, I find they work within 48 hours and keep me free of pain for some time. Hoping my consultant will give me an injection when I see him next week as been off steroid injections for nearly 6 months now.
Thank you LL, i am getting a steroid injection on the 5th of june as i am hoping it will help for the journey to devon. It will be a slow trip down there i know, but the change of scenery might do me more good than little. xxx
Sorry you are not good Sylvi :((( ...lets hope the anti tnf's don't take too long ..take care C x
Sorry to hear you're suffering Sylvi. I really hope that the anti tnf's are the turning point for you as you've had more than your fair share of pain recently. A holiday will do you good so fingers crossed that the steroid jab gives you some relief.
Oh Sylvi, I have no idea where you live, but I wish I was living down the road to you so that we could have a nice cup of tea together and put the world to rights, have a bit of a moan about our painful bits and pieces and hopefully a bit of a laugh too. But more importantly I'd like to give you a big, but gentle hug
I'm glad you've got a holiday to look forward to, pain free after your steroid injection, all being well. Take care of yourself in the meantime lovely lady. Love June xx
Thank you all very much,it means a lot to me to know i have friends like you all.You are all a lovely bunch of people. For anyone interested i live in the midlands, between coventry and nuneaton.
I think i will have to have another day off again today, even though the head is willing the body doesn't want to know. So it will be another day annoying everyone on here and f/book. I had some sleep last night because i took a sleeping tablet to help me. So i have had at least five hours of uninterupted sleep which for me is like having a lie in until ten o'clock.
I thank you all for your hugs and kind thoughts they are most welcome and if anyone is in my area and would like a cup of tea you are welcome to come round.xxxx
How I wish I did live closer for that chat & cuppa, but I'm on the south coast. still I do hope the injection does give relief so you can make the most of your holiday. I have found the injection have helped me at times of flare. any idea when the tnf drugs will begin for you? I'm on my 7th injection of Enbrel, I do feel better although my inflammation rate is still high so all joints have been effected so back on crutches as I've fallen a few times . I'm still hopeful that the drugs will help me improve my quality of life.
Have a lovely holiday, take care of yourself. love &hugs Alison xx
I feel for you. I think we could all cope better if we could get some sleep, don't you?
The steroids usually work for me. I went to my niece's wedding in Gretna Green and didn't know how I would cope with the journey there never mind the rest of the celebrations, but before I went I was put on 8 steroids a day for 5 days and once they had kicked in I had a fabulous time - I was the last one dancing, something I haven't done for a long time.
Sorry to hear your flare is not dying down fingers crossed for your steroid jab and tnfs working for you. And hopefully you will be feeling better in time for yr trip.
Thanks caroline and everyone of you have posted. I am rather fed up as it is affecting all my body,my eyes don't focus very well and the fatique is a killer. Just for once i am not doing anything at all and for me that is very hard to do,but i'm doing it. Thank you all.xxx
