My thumbs are curling inwards and my hands and wrists (more the right hand) are very painful and weak. I wear an over the counter thumb and wrist support but the metal splint is very uncomfortable. Are there any other things that may be available on the NHS? Thanks in advance!

Yes - definitely. OT's usually seem to deal with hand splints and hand function, but if you are already seeing a physio anyway you could ask them. Some areas you can self-refer to physio now, and that might be quicker than waiting for an OT appointment.
Yes I have had a few wrist splints made and also some hand rests.
