Hey Megsmokefree, well done on 6 weeks of your quit, unfortunately I cannot offer any advice as I am not taking the champix but there is posters on here taking it and should be able to offer advice. I done a quick look up there and below came up but its not a common side affect....maybe speak to your doctor about the rash, good luck!
Dermatologic Common (1% to 10%): Rash, pruritus
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Erythema, acne, hyperhidrosis, night sweats, acne, dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, urticaria, photosensitivity
Frequency not reported: Severe cutaneous reactions, including Stevens Johnson Syndrome and Erythema Multiforme, angioedema[SUP][Ref][/SUP]
Hi Megs, I decided to take my time answering you because I'm not convinced it's because of the champix, it may be just an odd coincidence.
Yes I did get a massive rash, very hot skin around neck, chest under arms and upper stomach.
I took the champix before and the rash wasn't a side effect, I'm thinking more that this rash could have been caused by some sort of viral thingy...I've been taking a huge amount of medication since end of August, I put it down to my immune system being completely shattered because of it.
In any case, I got a tube of hydrocortisyl and it was gone within a week.
If you're 6 weeks into the champix your mind is probably now playing with you talking you into stopping the champix because you really don't need it.
Please do not fall for that trap, every single person I know that has taken the champix and stopped around 5,6 weeks relapsed within the next 2 weeks.
You really need to to the full 3 months and it's becoming a bit too overwhelming, talk to your Gp and stop taking the night pill, continue on with the morning one.
Best of luck and stay strong.
Happy new year!!!
HI Megs...Excellent advice from top two posters (Maya and Rowens) I used Champix and always said I am one of the lucky ones with little to none side effects. So.. the rash might be something else but whatever you do do not stop taking the Champix...Complete the course... Strongs ...!!
Hello everyone. Wanted to say this is my second attempt with champix. First time i quit for a year and a half. This time I am happy to report that I am smoke free for 6 weeks. I also wanted to mention that for both times the nausea was very much present for about an hour every time I took the pill. But slowly it would subside. The dreams are crazy. So real!! I would wake up thinking that they are actually happening. Bloating. And worst of all GAS!! Oh my gas. But it all goes away....except the pounds you put on. That you have to work at.
As for the rash, yes I believe I have something going on. Back of my neck gets itchy followed by hot skin and then it just slowly goes away. Weird? Yes I agree. But this is what's happening. And it lasts for a short period. Not days, but an hour. I also wanted to add I noticed my arms have become very sensitive. If I were to do a gentle scratch with my nail on my arm in minutes you would see where I scratched. And minutes later the scratch is gone. Going in to doctor to ask. When I do I will post.
Well good luck to all reading these post. I hope they are helpful and reassuring.
Welcome Im-done-with-them to our community, I just came across this reply by accident as it is over 2 years old so would not have been seen on the the newsfeed when you posted back in March - how is things going for you? Over 5 months now? Perhaps create a new introductory post and share your story and how things are with you?
I have little red dots all over my body but it started as prickly heat i think although im not sure as i started champix the same time as i burnt. I have been given antibiotics but doctor has advised if it doesnt clear up to stop champix straight away 😣
