I had smoked since I was 16, for 35 years. A regular 20 a day kind of a person.
Been trying to give up for years but my heart wasn't really in it. The thought of giving up appealed but deep down I enjoyed a smoke.
One day I woke up and seriously decided to give up - used Champix for 9 weeks and here I am - 3 months and a bit off the cigarettes.
Never thought it possible!Wow! That is fantastic! 3 months is serious amount of time. Brilliant... and that was a life long habit you had there (just like mine)
Well done, keep it going now and we will see you in the penthouse in 9 short months
Well done it really amaazing to think it has been that long since your last smoke! anyone would of though we would have jumped off that bridge by now....but no cravings go and live moves on. Staying quit is a challenge at time but one i am sure you are more than prepared for. keep up the lovely work xxx
Yes, Champix is certainly a wonder drug - once I knew what to expect, the going was easy. It's not the same as using Nicorette replacements. Stopped smoking after 5 days and continued the course for about 2 1/2 months.
Heard all the associated horror stories - nothing out of the ordinary happened to me.
Indigestion - have had that for years - and no, I'm not giving up drinking as well.
Farts - welcome to my world!
Weird dreams - none at all, was very disappointed...
Restlessness - plenty of that, still haven't been able to channel all this new found energy.
Was a little apprehensive when coming off the tablets, even cut a few 1mg in half, but in the end just stopped - and that was about 3 weeks ago.
