...clear! & my OH is at 3 months. The feelings of missing out on something are long gone (as is my slim figure!), the ups & downs & sheer rages are a thing of the past too. I've been through some seriously bad times with trials & tribulations galore (the death of 2 cats, the threat of subsidence etc) but I have come through it so far. The down side is that my health is much worse (it's almost like the fags were helping, stupidly) They now say I have Rheumatoid Arthritis along with Fibromyalgia & they are trying steroids on my chest for now, in the hope that will help (&, please no 'It's your mind playing tricks on you' or 'It's the Nic o demon trying to get you back' comments..no, it's not...the illnesses are real...it's the result of blood tests, lol!)...however...I am still very committed to the quit & am very pleased & happy that I have made it so far. For the first time ever on a quit, I am not envious of smokers at all. The thought of physically putting a cig to my lips makes me actually gag & the smell of stale smoke (which used to make me salivate before) makes me feel ill. The fact that I no longer smoke will at least now not make the illnesses I have any worse...which would happen if I took it up again. Luckily, I am determined not to...in fact, taking it up again hasn't crossed my mind for around 2 months now. I don't miss it at all & at last, I am no longer setting a bad example for our younger kids...they will hopefully not remember that we used to stand outside in all weathers, sucking on a fag & come in stinking....whether they will smoke themselves is something we can do little about...just have to hope that they won't & at least they won't see us doing it!

Bless you Sophie, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 9 years ago and I totally sympathise with you, I'm so sorry to hear you have FM too, you must live in a world of pain that most couldn't even begin to comprehend :(. Soooo in awe of how you've done with your quit, you are an absolute star to have coped with all that life has thrown at you and still stick two fingers up to the nic demon.
