Hi all. Gave up 10 days ago,I am taking champix,I've been fine on them untill today ,got a horrible taste in my mouth,,notice it last night when having a beer ,only had 3 pints, taste was crap, even felt a bit sick, every thing seems to taste the same, not very nice,I thought about stopping the champix ,to see how I would get on ,I have not touched a fag since giving up,I did smoke for 43 years

I'm not finding it to bad ,it's just this taste it's driving me nuts,I don't really understand why you have to take for 12 weeks, don't think I'll last that long on them, but I will continue not to smoke,,wondered if anyone. Else has experienced this, and could give me a few tips, thank you alan

Still nasty taste

Decided to cut the champix in half so I will be reducing dosage by half, still not smoking, but still getting the odd craving but it is getting easier,it's just my mouth tastes like a sewer, don't mind missing my cigs but when it makes every thing taste crap, food and drink,so will cut down and see where we go

Wow, well done Alan! And under such stressful circumstances as well :(

I hope you're truly proud of yourself. It takes a lot to fight when we feel vulnerable and stressed out, so I hope you can treat yourself with something nice!

Really well done! Keep up the hard work :D

Congratulations Alan, I am will be completing my 7th day today using patches and I too have the most disgusting taste, (teeth spotless the ammount of times i am cleaning them). My beloved coffee=Yuk :(. So it might not be the tablets just the start of tastebuds coming back to life and having to deal with everything. It must get better and back to normal or we wouldnt have these wonderful people on this forum that are still going weeks/months/years later encouraging us to stay quit.
