think i've cracked this, hardly get any cravings and dont think about smoking much anymore. If I do, a quick glass of water and a suck on an inhaler does the trick.
The eve of my week quitting (thursday), I'm going to have a meal out to celebrate at Harvester with a few drinks to say well done to myself. - paid for by the cigarettes

when I decided to quit I honestly thought I wouldnt last more than 2 days, 3 at most. Now I'm like 'meh, is it this easy?' (sorry if that sounds arrogant to people really struggling to quit)
Fully expecting there to be lots of challenges further down the path though
Had to laugh though. The missus was convinced I'd be smoking by today as I had some money for the first time since Friday when I quit. She seemed shocked that I hadn't, and when I was waiting for her in the car as she was dropping soemthing off to a friend she came back in the car and was about to yell at me as she thought I was having a crafty one, as she saw me sucking on something (my inhaler) and the window was half open - o ye of little faith, lol
methinks people who think people who smell, smell. what am I like, like, people who smoke smell, like what am like? people who think people who smoke, like smell, like what am I like, I'm like people who smell, smell, like people who smoke smell, like, it smells.

Hello mcfcben congratulations on your quit so far. However a word of warning.
One of the effects of alcohol is to lower your perception of reality. So be careful that the "smoking it wasn't that bad" syndrome doesn't kick in on Friday night and the inevitable happens.
Sorry to be such a harbinger of doom and I sincerely hope that you have a nice evening on Friday.
