Hi Fleetwood,

The thing about Champix is that everyone is different. The best person to talk to is your dr.

I have been on Champix for 7 weeks now and feel fine. I have had times when I felt nausea but I found that was eased by eating a decent meal when taking the tab and taking it in the middle of the meal. I was however prepared to take a chance because I appreciated myself and my OH far more than cigs.

My OH is on meds for other issues but he was fine to take it.

See what your dr says you may be surprised.

Hi Jacqui

I would say talk to your doctor. Champix really seems to do its job for most people, but as Lingy says, there are differing reactions to the side effects - and also ways of dealing with the things like nausea. I have had them quite badly, but it has been worth it for me. It has also helped now that I have halved the dose - in retrospect, I think I could have done this earlier and still been able to quit.

Fleetwood,

It is totally different for everyone. I started to write everything down here to provide simply my experiences.

After knowing what it did to me, looking back over the 21 days...i say a littel nausea and bad dreams were worth the pride i feel today.

Yes, it is different for everyone, as the others have said.

I am only on half-dose because the full dose was affecting my sleep too much. I've had very little nausea, though.

When I first raised the idea of Champix, I thought the Doctor would say no because of my medical history, but it turned out that he thought it was more important that I gave up smoking, and I was quite capable of monitoring myself for side effects.

Good luck, whatever you decide! :)
