champix day 7

Hi again,

I haven't actually got to day 1 of stopping yet but have just finished day 7 of champix. I'm a bit worried as I feel no different at all yet. Aren't I supposed to be going off smoking by now? I'm onto the blue ones tomorrow so I'm hoping something will kick in!

Does this sound familiar to any champix quitters out there?

Hi Siana

I started to cut down without reallly noticing at first, then, by day 9 I found smoking utterly gross.

It doesn't happen for everyone at around the same time, but it does happen.

Good luck x

Hi Siana

I smoked up to day 14 which was my quit day and didn't feel any different at all - think I was smoking more as well  It was when I quit that I could feel what the drug had done and that was to take the need to smoke away. Don't rush it - your body will let you know when it's time to stop - some people give up after a week and some people take a little longer. Either way you're doing good :)

Pookie, I thought I had been smoking more too! It's almost like the cigs aren't having effect, although this is very subtle so you smoke more to try and get the affect you need!

Today though I have noticed the need to smoke isn't quite the same so I think I'm getting there now.

Skippy, I hope I find cigs gross like you, can't imagine it at the moment but really hoping this will work.

Thanks!

yep that's how I was feeling - taking much longer drags and smoking them almost down to the butt :o when's your quit date?

Hi Pookie,

I've set my date at day 14 now, Thursday 5th. The last two days I've smoked significantly less but still don't find it horrible.

How are you finding things now, how long have you been off champix?

Hi Siana

Don't worry I didn't find smoking horrible either and still don't - have a habit of following people who are smoking as I still like the smell :o I've been off the champix since the middle of June - did 11 weeks in total I think. I'll be 4 months quit next weekend so things are still going well :D Good luck for the 5th although I'm sure you'll be fine - I was hyper by the end of my first day - couldn't sleep cos I just wanted to tell the world I hadn't smoked :)
