On to two champix a day now.

Feeling miserable due to the fact im worried about life without cigarettes after next week.

Been my friend through good and bad times for 17 years (thats alot of lung damage!), ok that last comment has convinced me i'll be ok.

17 years of damage, lungs are bloody screaming! (to the tune of 3 lions)

Just made that up on the spot, eat your heart out Lennon/Mcartney

Being worried about life without cigarettes is normal (at least it was for me). It's a major change to your lifestyle as you'll no longer have to plan your entire day around when and where you can have a smoke so it's normal to be apprehensive about such an event. Alternatively, think of it as an exciting event - your first smoke-free day since you get addicted!

Thanks Dave

Just popped out at work to drop something off and actually kinda forgot to roll a fag before i went and didn't bother me at all. Infact the paper work i was picking up blew out my pocket and i had to walk back and get it.

Kept calm, chin up and jogged on.

Sounds all good so far alfie. You gonna quit for good this time :)

By the end of week 1 I too had started to "forget" to smoke. Bet you a quid by the end of the week you can only handle one or two puffs of a rolly and you'll chuck the rolly away ;) The taste of smoke will become more and more unpleasant and make ya feel a bit queezy.

The Champ will un-teach your brain the "inhale-ahhhhhhh" cycle of pleasure, replacing it with "inhale-coughwheezebarf" cycle. You get the idea :D It still amazes me to this day how effectively it breaks the desire/addiction to smoke so quickly, after smoking for many years!

So stick in there, your doing great. Not be long now 'till you reach your quit date.

Hi Alfie,

Cigarettes have never been anybody's friend and I talk from 35 years of smoking the bastards but I know what you mean, but Alfie you know as well as me that even smoking for a year you can damage your lungs. But remember this you have a son who will rely on his dad as he journey's through life "no matter what age he is just now" so at least think of him as you are quiting the fags, and you know that we are all here to support you.
