Hi again everyone, just a quick update to thank everyone in the champix crew for the supportive words and also for the benefit of anyone new struggling with the side effects:
My story so far this time round: Started champix 28 days ago, stop smoking at day 13, so 15 days today Feeling great
For the past 8 days I have been taking only the 1mg tablet in the morning as most nights were being really unpleasant, diarrhoea, flatulence and depression, I am starting tomorrow a smaller dose (I specifically asked the GP for that) 0.5mg and I will be taking it just in the morning as well for the next week or two and see how it goes.
My 2nd and third week of champix were for the most part really hard with the side effects, but at the same time very glad that I stuck with it as the benefits far outweigh the discomforts.
Moral of the story: if you are struggling with side effects, work through it and you will be glad you did so, at least I am, this is turning out to be a not so brief update, but obviously if in doubt about any side effects, reducing doses, etc, talk it through with your GP.
Wishing everyone many happy smoke free days
