First week patch free...

Hi Folks,

Just thought I would update you on how I am getting on post patches.

It been interesting. Been patch free for almost 6 days now and its not been as bad as I imagined but it has been different. Am waking up during the night a few times and as a result feeling pretty tired. Also been really, really snappy. Not my usual self at all.

I am delighted to be patch free and to have made it as a non smoker for a full 12 weeks. Am hoping that in a week or so I will see a difference to my mood and my sleep cos I really had started to feel good lately.

One thing I noticed was that whilst being rather drunk last night I had some pretty strong craves. Any drunker and I might have acted on them so now know that its back to being really careful or staying sober for a while. I refuse to let anything take this away from me or more importantly have to start all over again

I took Jase's advice and had a good think about what it would be like and how to handle it and it really has helped. Also been drinking orange juice but possibly not enough as been a tad snappy - oops!

I am about to finish work for the easter weekend for the first time ever as an adult so most excited. Keeping really busy but also going to take time to relax and for myself.

Hope you all have a fantastic Easter Weekend.

Debsx

Hi Debs,

Good to hear you have been patch free as well as smoke free for all but a week now, brilliant.

Hope the sleep improves real soon for you, I am sure it will. I guess because we are still getting some nicotine from the patch it stands to reason we still have to go through a snappy, emotional phase. I still have to go through that

Well done to you, keep strong & enjoy your Easter break.

Oh, careful with the alcohol, many a quitters downfall that, inluding me :p

Hi Debs glad that you are drug free now and big congrats on 12 weeks, things will settle down I would think but we all have different quits methods to cope with and all different, thank goodness you can enjoy your week end and dont eat too many choccys LOL

Hello,

At home and already had some chocolate - oops!

Thanks Gaynor. I don't know if you have been to this stage before but if not, its really no worse that anything you have already conquered and nothing like the first few weeks. I don't want to worry you too much. I am eating for Scotland though ......not so good lol. Yeah I think being nicotine free is causing a few changes but nothing I can't handle ;)

Booze definitely something to watch. I need to take good care of my quit!

Hey Jamangie. Thanks V much. Looking forward to lots of chocolate. Am allowed to eat what I want for the next week then its back to weightwatchers.....boooooo. Hope you both have a great weekend.
