Hello to everyone

Im new here and after reading quite a few helpful posts thought I might be able to get a bit of advice of u guys.I decided to quit as its really getting bad recently..I have developed asthma because of it and Im not able to cut down.

Got my champix tablets and on day 5 now but dont feel anything different at all!Still smoking and still tastes the same, had slight nausea but nothing too serious and as I set my date on 5th July Im starting to worry.

I know that it still requires will power but thought it will kick in by now and make it slightly easier.Has anyone experienced this:confused:

Hi Passenger :D

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Day 5 on champix is good Don't worry that they haven't kicked in properly yet they will they recommend you stop sometime during the 2nd week of taking them and as you've set your date for the 5th you still have 5 days yet I suspect that before then you'll notice that you aren't smoking as much anyway and by then you won't want to smoke at all

I to wondered if they were working but by the time the day i set came round I was really forcing myself to smoke and was well down on my normal amount

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Best Wishes

Hi Passenger 39

I had that for 3 days on Champix and nearly gave up but I stuck with it and once I increased to the 1mg I was fine.

Stick with it it does get better.

Hi Passenger,

I'm 50 days quit using Champix and felt really sick intil couple weeks ago decided to only take half a tab per day and now don't feel sick anymore, try and stick with it but try and alter the dose you take and see how that goes. all the best and good luck, keep posting and let us know how your getting on xx
