My name is Alyssa, I'm 27 years old. Mother of three amazing kids! I was diagnosed with nonhodgkins lymphoma in January 2017. I underwent 4 months of chemotherapy and now I've been in remission for 4 months. I still have questions as to how I got cancer but I'm also grateful to be alive and that my body responded well to my treatment. Things happen so fast so we must love ourselves and life. I am here to encourage and strengthen anyone that's going thru this. You are in my prayers and I am in your corner.
Love your life!: My name is Alyssa, I'm... - Non Hodgkin's Lym...
Love your life!
Diagnosed Jan 2017 as well with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma Cutaneous. I was told originally I would be starting CHOP in February, but my lesions all disappeared and I went into spontaneous remission. Now 8 months with nothing and will continue a watch and wait regiment. A positive attitude is key in my view, hard to eventually get to, but a positive attitude helps you get through each day.
I agree with you 100% a positive attitude and a great support system. I'm so happy for you and pray everything continue to go well with you.
Why do you think the lesions went away?
No idea why I went into spontaneous remission. I did start taking Cannibis oil with a high CBD content a month after diagnosis. I take 1ml per day and have for 1 year without having any new lesions at all. Is it the CBD oil, who knows but I will continue with it
You are a positive example to all of us affected by this disease. Wishing you well and hoping your remission continues for the longest time. Enjoy your family and life together.
Regards
Mary
Thanks Mary,
I am so grateful to be here. Its only by the grace of God. My children need their mother. I am all they have. I want to encourage anyone I can, cancer was my wake up call. I pray you stay strong and know that I am here if you need me.
Welcome, Alyssa. Looking forward to seeing you on this forum. Your attitude does you credit - we all try to stay positive and encourage one another here and there's lots of hope and experience amongst the members. Good luck in your recovery and continued remission to you!
Thank you so much Sharon, I've learned that we are humans and we all can get sick. It doesn't matter our ethnicity or social status. We are all effected. I had great support during the most difficult time and I want to extend my help to all that I can. And I hope things are going well for you as well Sharon.
I also have NHL since 1994 , stage 3. I have had extensive chemo and radiation but doing very well. All my life I had infections, childhood diseases were always the worst they could be, any incision usually led to infection. This, according to oncologists suggested a low immune system and is the most usual cause. I urge you to hang on, know you are not alone and keep on praying.. I also had a stem cell transplant n 1999, relapsed in 2005 and am now 82 !! Also to prove to you any thing is possible, my older daughter had the same thing in 1974 at age 9. She survived that after chemo and radiation and that was harder than mine. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2015 at age 50 from liver cancer which had metastasize d from a lobula breast cancer that was so small it went undetected. I widsh you good health and continued remission. If you do relapse, remember there are new and effective treatments
Thank you so much for your testimony. I am overly encouraged. To have gone through what you went through and the attitude you maintain is amazing. You are definitely a believer that all things are possible. I know your attitude played a big part in your recovery. I prayed all continue to goes well with you and you continue to live a happy life. Continue to encourage people by your story, it's amazing!
By the way, my younger daughter's name is Alissa!
And your youngest daughter has such a beautiful name😃
You are awesome! I too have been on this journey for at least 3 years. I try to stay positive, stay away from stress and live day by day so I am in the present moment! I love your attitude! There will be some down days but make sure you lean on a friend or family member, then it won't last long. Keep up the good work! I too am in remission and am a woman of gratitude! I don't understand how I got this either. Oh well! We will live well, live with purpose and be kind to everyone we meet. I hope your day was great!

Hi what were your symptoms prior to diagnosis ? Did you have skin lesions ?
Hello. I had an enlarged lymph node that protruded from the right side of my neck. It was there for years. Most doctors I saw wasn't worried about it. But then I went to an ENT doctor and he did a biopsy and it was Stage 2 Lymphoma. I also had rashes that they linked to my diagnoses but I still have them now that I'm in remission.
