Test results

I got my test results back from the CAT scans. I have an enlarged liver, spleen, and borderline heart. Multiple lymph nodes lumps. My white blood cell count is around 19,000, he's sending me to a hematologist. So I still don't know if I have non Hodgkin's lymphoma. What do y'all think? Thank you, so much for your replies. GOD bless you all.

Your haematologist will probably want more tests, blood, bone marrow and pet scan to properly diagnose your condition. Have you had a biopsy on the lymph nodes? In my case 3 fine needle biopsies proved inconclusive and a swollen lymph node from my neck was cut out for examination and final diagnosis. There are many forms of lymphoma and correct diagnosis is vital to evaluate the possible treatment path you will go down. Try to be positive and remember we have already been where you are at this time. Keep in contact and ask anything you wish we are all here to help.

Thank you, I have had a biopsy by surgery 13yr ago, they said it wasn't cancer, but didn't know what it was. My Dr thinks they lost the results, so I got frustrated and didn't go back til now, that it's more problems, and a lot worse. I guess out of sight out of mind, I thought. I will keep in touch with all of you, I know you've been through so much. GOD bless you

Hi Gailbarnes,

TezzM has said it all. Even if you prove positive for NHL, remember that once the doctors get it under control and manageable, it can be largely a case of watch and wait as with many chronic illnesses.

Decent food (not in a packet), whatever exercise you can manage and a positive outlook are very important in keeping your immunity up and will help you recover faster if you have to have treatment.

We are all here with our different experiences - so keep posting any questions or updates that you have.

Gail, Thank you for sharing your update. I too had an enlarged spleen, was diagnosed with stage IV mantel cel NHL, after a bone biopsy. My liver was somewhat enlarged but they said it was a fatty liver... I am in remission after what they call R-chop chemo treatment and Nuelasta shots.... I had a port put in, and started April 2015 and in remission in July 2015. I have been getting Rituxin infusions thru my port, every 3 months to stay in remission. I have my PET scan on July 18, then see the oncologist on the 20th. If all blood and scan are good, I get my last treatment on the 20th of July and they will schedule to remove my port. So God hears and answers our prayers... I am putting you on my prayer list for good results and recovery... I didn't think I would be here today to talk about it.... Bless you... and keep your chin up... Judy

Thank you, Judy. Thank GOD, your in remission! Yes, I believe he can do miracles. Do you feel a bone marrow biopsy? Is there anyway to get these lymph nodes to shrink? Lol there starting to affect the nerves, etc. From pressure, at the bend of my arms. I just have a feeling, I have NHS. And I know this is bad, but I lost my son, and I wouldn't be afraid of GODs will. When he died, I died too. But, I have custody of my 3 grandkids, whom keeps me going, so I do have to fight for them. They need me. My prayers are with you my friend.

Gail my lymnodes all went down with my first chemo treatment of the R-chop. I noticed the first week they started to go down. Mine were all in my neck area and where collar bone is Never hurt. But Pet scan showed all lymph glands from neck to groin were enlarged along with spleen. I also had chronic hiccups. I am 77 and too old for bone marrow transplant. They did 2 of the bone marrow Biopsies. Last one was clean. I am terribly fatigued. And terrible numbness type neuropathy in feet. Finger tips some from one of the 4 chemo chemicals that he took out of the mix when I complained. Ha

I am deeply sorry about the loss of your son. May God bring you to good health thru the doctors knowledge, guidance and decisions if you need treatment. Continued prayers for you and all who ask for Gods healing.

Be true to yourself and find a doctor that will communicate. You know something is not right, with all your results. Sending prayers and stay positive.

Gail, it's so important to wait for the test results and not get into the guessing game, as it can really play a number on one's mental health. Try to stay positive, and do stay in touch with your medical team. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. That can't be easy. My heart goes out to you. Reach out to close family and friends, if you can. Any type of illness can be very isolating, and it's important to guard against loneliness as depression can sneak in at a time like this. Take care of yourself.

Thank you, Belinda. I don't have anyone since my parents and my son died, he was my best friend. The man in my life, shows no effection at all to me, he hasn't even been there for me at all. I know I can't do this with him here anymore. I do have my best friend, who made funeral arrangements for me and everything cause I couldn't mentally do it. She's been a GOD sent. Me and my mom payed all the bills together, now I'm paying a mortgage, etc. On 792.00 a month alone. No vehicle, to get to Drs or anything. I haven't lived like this since I was 16. I don't want pity, I'm just venting. I still feel blessed, to have my grandkids, and my friends. It's just very numbing to have all this, I'm sure you know what I mean. Thank GOD for all of you, that are fighting your own battles.

Gail, I'm so sorry you've had so much to deal with, and so little support. No, it isn't easy, but thankfully you have a good friend you can count on. That's so important. And grandkids always make the world a brighter place, don't they. You're in my prayers. I do hope things improve for you.

Thank you, you all are in my prayers also. I went to the oncologist, he said normally he would do surgery and remove my axillary node which is 60mm and biopsy it, but he said it's hard to recover from that surgery. So he's sending me for a PET scan the 8th and back to him on the 11th. There's not a PET scan in Sevierville, they bring it from Knoxville every two weeks. So I really don't know anything more than I did lol but the nodes on both ribs are 5-6 marble size, sting like cuckle burrs, cause I have to lay on my sides. The big ones in the bend of my arms are really putting pressure on my nerves. I hope everything is great with y'all. All my love, Gail
