Hello. I was diagnosed with stage III nodal marginal zone NFL (Oct 16) and fibromyalgia (2014). I haven't worked for over two years, I applied for Social Security Disability (SSD) in December. Is anyone else with NHL receiving SSD? What was your experience?

Receiving disabilty?
I was advised to apply so I have done. Just waiting to hear. I would say you're entitled if you're unable to work and your health professionals can support your claim.
I was diagnosed with T-Cell NHL NOS in Jan 2012. Tried working while on my CHOP therapy but was unable to continue to work. I am an ER nurse and with wbc counts of 0, was to risky to be around patients. My work gave me disability retirement and I applied on-line for SSD and received it with no problems. SSD has a list of cancers that are automatic acceptance for SSD and mine was included. Had many forms of chemo over the coarse of 2 years but none kept the NHL away for more than couple months. Finally had a Stem cell transplant 8 June 2014 with my brother being my donor. Happy to say off all transplant drugs and although have a few issues with GVHD, nothing so far can't live with. Unfortunately working again as a RN is out of the picture.
