First of all, as someone who will shortly be joining those in the transplant waiting list- I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for the wonderful gift of life which you are considering giving. I believe you can contact Nhs blood and transplant- although, your GP should be able to help you with it as well. Once again- thanks and good for you!

I hope it works out for you, whether you are donating to someone you know or doing it to help someone else. If you live anywhere near a hospital with a Renal Unit they will have a Living Donor Co-ordinator who will give you all the information. As long as you are fit and well you should be able to donate. I donated to my husband and the process was very straightforward and painless and I recovered quickly after the operation.
