I would call or message your transplant team. I just recently received a transplant and do not know what would be safe with your meds. Hope you feel better soon.

This is not a question for the internet. Please test for Covid-19.

since when did asking for advice about the cold and flu become off limits?

Hi Bmw520d, make sure to drink lots of hot fluids and consult you transplant team for advice as I know there’s not a lot of medications we can’t take after transplant. I had a bad cold and just took lots of hot drinks and paracetamol to help with my symptoms. I didn’t want to take any more medication if I didn’t need to. I hope you feel better soon.

Aways avoid nsaids. Tylenol is usually OK. Being immune suppressed can open you up to infections or conditions you have never had before. I ended up with a constant battle with sinus problems. Also, kidney issues seem to go along with thyroid problems. The long and short of it is your body is functioning a little differently, so you will have many questions, and you will get different answers from different doctors and friends. Your own problem solving skills come in handy now. Really get to know your body and do your research, particularly on the side effects of medication that you take. Also, research or ask what every item on your blood or urine test means. The more you know, the less anxiety and paranoia because it is sad to say that comes with the process. Your kidney becomes like a newborn baby. You want it to be happy and healthy.
