We are all different. It does depend on age, pre-existing conditions etc.Back in 1992, I was diagnosed with "Focal Segmental Glomerulus Sclerosis" - FSGS.

Due to a STREP infection, I had a glomerulonephritis. 6 years later I was put on the transplant list. I am now almost 23 years post. I am living well and try to give back.

Best of luck to your Mom! What is her age? What did the doc give as her Stage of CKD?

Hi, sorry that your family is going through this. I was diagnosed with MPGN in the ‘80s at age 12. Lots of prednisone (and other meds) and low salt diet through my teen years and a living donor transplant at age 29. I’m healthy and happy and now 46. Since the diagnosis was fairly new, my doctor’s approach was to keep me as healthy as possible while new technologies and research improved. Best of luck to you and yours.
