If you're a transplant recipient, has your transplant nephrologist recommend you get the high dose flu vaccine? Is it even widely available at the pharmacies?

High dose Flu vaccine
I have never taken a flu shot but I did just get my booster shot (3rd) of Moderna with no side effects
My primary care physician said that my insurance will not cover the high dose ("super") flu shot for me as it's officially approved only for those over 65. I'm waiting to hear back from my transplant nephrologist.
Yes but the pharmacy said being I am not 65 they could not do it . Then weeks after I got the regular dose they called and said well yes you can.
The high dose flu vaccine is the same one that those of us over 65 get every year. I got mine on September 30th at my local pharmacy. I will get the Moderna booster this Saturday at the COVID vaccine clinic in town.
Hi. It is offered at he hospital that I go to for all of my care. Here it is offered for people over 65 AND for immunosuppressed people. I do not know if pharmacies offer it the same way. Unfortunately I had already gone out and had my "regular" flu shot when I heard the super one was being offered. My nephrologist told me to wait next year and get the super shot.
