Has anyone else here had a baby post transplant? And what did your doctor advise you about breastfeeding while taking your immunosuppressants?

I have not, but was considering it. If you’re not already part of it, there is a FB group called “Pregnancy & Motherhood + Organ Transplant” that is very supportive, and the community offers so many different stories and perspectives.

Hey there! So i recently gave birth to a baby boy this past April. He came 13 weeks early and is still in the nicu, but i doing so well and weighing 7lbs 3 oz, no medical problems. I talked to my dr before gettig pregnant. He took me off cellcept and gave me Azathioprine. I still took prednisone, prograf, and my blood pressure meds. I pump for him daily, i will get back on cellcept when im done nursing.

Thank you Jenny! This makes me feel better. I was also switched to Azathioprine before getting pregnant. So happy to hear your baby is doing well :)

Hiii!

This is great to hear! I will also join the FB group. I am 9 months post transplant and am starting to think about planning post my 1 year mark. I’m on tacro and cellcept. Heard staying on tacro is fine but cellcept will need to be switched out.
