Medicare terminated

Has anyone had Medicare part B terminated for non payment. I literally have had such a hard time since my transplant between the death of my brother and the winter storm in Texas. I got a letter from SS saying my insurance was cancelled on 3/31/21. I have sent a payment for the full amount due which included coverage from 4/1/21-6/30/21. Also sent in a form requesting reinstatement and the reason I couldn’t pay

I am worried that I won’t be able to afford my immunosuppressant drugs. I am so stressed out.

Just want to know if anyone has been they this and if so what was your outcome. Thank you.

I’d go in immediately to talk with a person who works in your regional center for Medicare and Medicaid services. See the link below to find your regional office. They should be able to check the status of your payment and reinstatement request.

I have not experienced this but please reach out to your transplant center and see if they can help. Ask for meds and any and all support amd explain your situation. Call SS too which is always a pain due to wait times but whatever you do don’t let your meds go. God Bless!

Hey there! Ive had this happen to me. Ultimately i lost my transplant. I didnt reach out to everyone like i shouldve, knowing what i know now. Definitely reach out to your transplant team and for me i still dont understand insurance, so tell them if you dont. Demand you need these life saving meds. Im on my 2nd transplant and dont have insurance, i use the goodRx app for super cheap pills ( prograf, immuran, and my blood pressure meds ) hope you get the help you need.

I think you should reach out to your transplant team. They should be able to direct you to agencies that will pay your Medicare premiums. I am 2 months post transplant and when I was on dialysis the American Kidney Fund was paying not only my insurance premium I paid for at work but also my Medicare premium and will continue to pay them both for the rest of the 2021 year. Also check with the state you live in they may offer assistance in paying your Medicare premiums. I do remember when I first started getting Medicare I received a letter from the state saying I may qualify for assistance paying my Medicare premiums. GOD Bless you and may you find favor in all things.
