Hi everyone. Has anyone followed any specific diet after the transplant or any alternative supplements? Thank you!!!
Any specific diet after the transplant? - Kidney Transplant
Any specific diet after the transplant?
The only diet I followed after transplant was eating and feasting like a king.
After transplant in july 2020, i ate whatever j wanted whenever i wanted and gained 20 pounds in about 2 months.. so now i eat healthy, try to do low carb, low fat and exercies about 3 times a week. I allow myself a cheat day a week to eat my favorite foods ☺️
21 years and counting - no special diet. I do try to eat a healthy diet and I still watch my salt intact.
Hi,
I have an Instagram where I am keeping track of my diet. It’s @renalvegetarianjourney. I keep track of all the foods I’m eating here to help others.
9 Years post transplant. I eat lo-carb, Take vitamin D3 & magnesium. Good luck
My doctors told me to stay on a low salt diet.
I know your initial question was months ago, but I just read it and I was not given a specific diet. However, I was told not to eat raw shell fish, pomegranates, and mangos ever again. That has not been a problem. I had my transplant in 2012 and in the first week or two, I was dehydrated no matter how much liquids I consumed. After 3 trips for IV drips, a nurse suggested that I should try drinks with electrolytes. I don't care for those sports drinks, so I started to drink SmartWater. That did the trick and now, 9 years later, I no longer have any problems. I have religiously followed what my nephrologist says. Stay informed and stay healthy!
