Hi, I’m trying to lose some weight, I exercise 3 times a week with a trainer and I walk 2-3 miles on my off days. Has anyone ever drink protein powder drinks and if so what kind and have you have any problems due to your immune suppressant meds?

Too much protein is not good for the kidneys. Before my transplant my Doctor told me no meat or dairy! The question you seek an answer to can be answered by your nephrologist or transplant team.

They want your Albumin (protein) level to be at 4.0 or above. Mine was 4.0-4.1 for 2&1/2 yrs on dialysis & 8&1/2 yrs post transplant. Protein is good for your body. Some dr's disagree, but most want to keep your protein level up. Good Luck!!
