When do you guys take your prograf/tacrolimus/envarsus, steroids (prednisone), and cellcept/azathioprine?
My team never advised me how to take any of them, just that I should take prograf on an empty stomach. Are you able to take prograf and prednisone together?
Thanks.

You should contact them as soon as possible and find out. They should have given you a guide to go by. I take my Tacrolimus and Prednisone together in the mornings.
ever since I got with my husband his medication has always been 12 hrs. He takes it 3 am and 3 pm. He takes celcept, prednisone am and he takes his celcept and envarsus for his pm medication.
I'm sorry they never told you and I'm surprised that they never talked to you about it since that can affect the transplant. I'd get a hold of them right away.
Hi! My father had a transplant and takes cellcept at 6 am and 6 pm. He has an alarm set on his phone to go off at these times and remind him. And if hes not with his phone, someone in the house will hand it to him and he does his pills right then and goes on with life.
I have an autoimmune disorder, vasculitis. I take cellcept twice a day, 12 hours apart. When I first started taking it, it was upsetting to my stomach, so I took it with food. I believe directions say to take it on an empty stomach, but my doc said this was ok for me.
I also take hydroxychloroquine and prednisone at the same time each morning. But there are people who need to split their prednisone into 2 times a day. It will make your heart feel like its racing and kick all your anxiety into full force for a time, but this gets better. Take it as early as you are allowed.
If you cant get your doctor, try a nurse. There is a whole team of people who should be advising you. If you cant get them, call the pharmacy. They will have directions, or ask them to advocate for you with your doctor. You dont need more uncertainty right now. Take what people are telling you, but get in touch with your own health care team today.
Good luck to you! Hold on for a bit and this will get easier!
Make sure you check with your transplant team about taking your meds.
If they bother your stomach make sure you take with food. Also make sure prednisone is taken in the am.
I am 20 years post transplant and take Myfortic and Neoral 12 hours apart. For me I take at 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. I was able to stop taking the prednisone about 10 years ago.
Best of luck to you and let us know how you are doing.
8 am meds ...1 mg of tacrolimus, 750 mg of cellcept, (mycophenalate)25 mg of levothyroxin, 12.5 carvedilol, 20 mg famotidine, magnesium, multi vitamin, and Vitamin D3 once a week
In the beginning there were all kinds of "dont take this with that" and "take this 2 hours after that" but now I simply take things on a regular schedule and and no issues with mixing meds, that I am aware of. Definitely contact your team to ask.
I take my Advagraf (Tacrolimus) when I wake up, it should be taken- at least- one hour before food. By the time, that I have, hit the 'Snooze' button, shaved, done my teeth, showered- and washed my hair- wiped my shower down and got dressed, it is an hour (certainly by the time I have Done This!).
I then have breakfast and then Take my, Other Tablets. This works well, for me, but we are all different and, some people, might get a better result taking some later in the day. (If I'm very uncomfortable, from Constipation, I might take a laxative at night- not that I do that often.)
My advice... Do read Labels, Speak to Consultants and Listen to yourself. If tablet A causes 'Sickness', taken at 8am, then try it at noon. If tablet doesn't seem to be Working, taken at noon, then try that one at 8am. It's finding, YOUR bodies 'Rhythm' and accommodating it, that is, the 'Secret'.
Sorry, that I can't be, any more Definite hashtagger56- if it's any 'Help', it took me- notwithstanding Drug Changes- about two years to be 'Stable.... Before my Transplant...and about six months after it.
I take all my transplant meds at one time, twice a day; 9a & 9p. Hasn’t bothered me but we s have different gastro tracks. If you can do it this way it certainly helps in not forgetting meds.
