I am on week 4 post transplant and my creatine level is still not at normal range. My last creatine was 163, which is still not at normal range. The normal range is below 100. Has anyone gone through this after 4 weeks. When will the creatine go to normal level?
Creatine levels: I am on week 4 post... - Kidney Transplant
Creatine levels
Congratulations on your transplant! Your numbers may fluctuate for the short term, as your body adjusts to the meds and your kidney settles in. Communicate with your docs about how you feel. This helps them make adjustments too. The first few months are an adjustment. Stay positive❤
I would ask my nephrologist on your next visit or call and ask the nurse. This would bother me until I asked about it.
No. But sometimes it takes the kidney a while to "wake up". Don't get discouraged.
My transplant started working immediately, while I was still on the operating table. My creatinine was all over the place at first until things settled down at the 6 month mark, but never much out of normal range. If this were me, I would be calling my doctors NOW, not waiting till next appt and finding out what to expect. I know that sometimes it does take awhile for the kidney to start working like it should. But....CALL
Just stay positive. Remember your body still adjusting. We all have different body different ways of process change. Just keep up with you labs. Take your medication and pray about it. Remember Gods always listening. Have faith and remember he brought you this far. Hugs and I'll be praying for you
My husband's kidney didn't "wake up" right away after transplant, it took him months for his creatinine to get to his normal. As long as it is trending down, the docs don't worry too much. Also remember, not everyone's creatinine will be at the normal level. it's been 2 years and my husband's "normal" is between 1.5 - 1.7. It has gone up and down up but normally settles within that range. So just because yours doesn't get to 100 or below, it doesn't mean the kidney is not working well. It could just be your normal range.
