Congratulations on your transplant. I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary. I’m doing well as is myself donor. I’m a very compliant patient. I really feel so Blessed to have received a kidney, I want to do everything I can to keep it functioning as long as possible. Plus I think it would be super disrespectful to my donor if I didn’t care for the gift she gave me. Not sure exactly where you live, but the National Kidney Foundation in my state is very helpful. Congratulations on your transplant! This October 15th it will be 20 years post transplant for me. Please remember to report any side effects or concerns to your transplant center. This first year it is important to get on the right dose of immunosuppressants. Mine were adjusted several times that first year. Take your meds on time and drink plenty of water. Most importantly.....remember to enjoy life! 8 months after my transplant I was hiking in Glacier National Park in Montana. Life life.....
