I’m very concerned about the water I’m drinking seeing I drink 2-3 litres a day I bought a Brita but that wasn’t good enough, then I bought 18 L spring water still not good enough I’m now considering reverse osmosis ? Do any one have an option or suggestion?

Dave 🙏💪😝

Hi--Personally, I think you're wise to consider this, especially since we're meant to drink so much water after transplant. I'm lucky to live near a natural spring where I can get natural water I trust. I also have a countertop distiller. Ultimately, I'd like a whole-house purification system but that's expensive.

Hi when I first had my transplant I was living in a house with an artisan well with 2 filters before tap it was the best but I had to move to town where the water is chlorinated 😩won’t drink that even thou I’m told it’s perfectly fine well not for me it isn’t so I’m going to instal a reverse osmosis filter system it’s a bit pricy but it’s worth it thanks and stay strong💪🙏😝

I purchase vapor distilled spring water and pour it into a Brita. I also found Kirkland brand water has no flouride added and use that too.

I’d be careful about well water. My transplant team said bottle water when I visit my in-laws who only have well water. You have to worry about microorganisms especially with a suppressed immune system. This makes sense considering we are told not to garden due to mold.

I’m curious why do you feel water going through a Brita is not good enough? I drink 4-6 liters of fluid a day, get my water from filtered tap water or bottled water (nothing fancy).

Hi the well water was double filtered and we had it checked by a private water testing company came back with flying colours but I’ve moved since then now I’m drinking filtered spring water but I’m getting a reverse osmosis filter for under my sink. No more worries😝

I like FiJi water and essential! I have tried Kirkland. I like essentia because it comes in liters and I don’t have to worry about how much I drink in a day! I also use a water app to make sure I document my water for the day!

Dear Gotthecall_123,

One question....In what way was the Brita Filtered Water 'Not good Enough'? I only ask because, as someone who was Transplanted in July 2013, I have no such problems. I actually use a Tesco Filter, that seems, Very adequate.

I don't know, what you have been told, but British Tap Water is, in all probability, one of the best in the World. It is 'drawn' from good sources, either purpose built 'lakes', clean rivers or pure underground sources. Our water is then Carefully Cleaned, by things like Activated Carbon (as used in Gas Marks), before being carefully chlorinated and finally put through, again carefully prepared Water Pipes. I might, sound like an Advert for a Water Company, but this is actually true. What Comes out, of our Taps, is usually cleaner than Bottled water.

The only 'Thing', that Might be a Problem- depending on where you live- is Mineral content, especially Potassium, Nitrate and Phosphate. It might, be worth, seeing if a 'in pipe' filter can be bought, to tackle this. Surely better than buying 'Endless' Bottles of water....

Hi Andrew i live in northern canada our tap water is perfectly fine probably the best in the world no kidding i chose to not drink it because of chlorination i get natural spring water at a low cost so i prefer to drink that its my personal choice 💪🙏😛

OK Gotthecall_123, I won't argue over who has the best water....Just a thought, the Brita- Activated Charcoal- filters DO remove much, maybe most, of the Choline and boiling it will remove it all...I'm NOT suggesting, that you actually drink Boiling water mind🙄.

Just a thought but are there any, of the Springs, near where you live?
