Donated my right kidney 4/24/18. Still in some pain but even with some complications I’m dealing with it pretty good. Just wanted to hear from people who have gone through it.

What an amazing gift you have given, the gift of life. Hope you contain to get over the operation. Take care of yourself.
I'm waiting for that gift and hopefully someone as kind to come along.

I was a donor on 2015. Have had no problems. I probably am more healthy now than before because I am taking better care of myself, regular check ups, exercise, eating better. I was in pain for 3 days but after that felt good. Just give yourself time to heal. Follow instructions not to lift, drink lots of water and walk. Welcome to our exclusive donor club! Thank you for your gift.
My son is my living donor hero. He gave me the gift of life 3 years ago. We are both doing great. After he donated his kidney to me, his biggest challenge was shoulder pain where gas from the surgery had settled. After 3 weeks that disappeared. Pain meds helped during that time. He is a civil engineer and went back to work 3 1/2 weeks post surgery and has had no problems since. With kidney transplant joy and thankfulness, Margo
I donated last week. Has anyone experienced an increase in burping? Other than the general muscle soreness in my abs I feel great. I continue to walk (slowly), drink lots of water, and avoid lifting heavy objects. It truly is a great feeling to be a donor.
It is wonderful you donated, I was anonymous donor in 2004 and have lived a healthy lifestyle with little implications to my health. The only part I ever find annoying is not being able to take an NSAID when I get a headache. It took time to get better and feel normal but now 14 years and almost 40 years old and still feeling well.
