Hi everyone..I’m new to this site..a little background on me...I’m 72 years old and type O blood type..
I started on dialysis January 2017 my weight back then was 328 pounds..I had been told for many years that I needed to watch what I eat and how much I eat.. I did watch, but didn’t listen...typical male I’ve been told..
During this period of time, my wife of 47 years, contacted stage four small cell lung cancer....so between taking her to chemo and radiation and appointments.. I let myself go health wise..
Well, my wife is still alive having gone through her second round of chemo and radiation...
Me, well last January of 2017, I was close to death because of my kidney failure and dialysis was started...now fast forward to March 2018, 224 pounds and waiting for a transplant...
I’m registered at The University of Minnesota....and patiently waiting...I’ve gone through test after test since last June..I’ve passed everything...
I’ve put information out on Facebook, Richard Needs A Kidney....at my age I need a transplant by the time I’m 76....
Thankyou for this opportunity to get my story out there among people familiar with my condition...
