Blessed with a 2nd Kidney Transplant

Hi everyone! I'm new here and wanted to share my story. When I was 3 years old, I had a kidney transplant and my mom was the donor. I had a perfectly healthy for over 33 years until the kidney failed about 3 years ago. I started dialysis in October 2016 and it was going very well. Through the last 3 years, I got listed at 4 hospitals in Florida and on March 11, 2019, I received a call for a transplant at Florida Hosptial in Orlando. I had the transplant on March 12, 2019, and it was very successful. I'm now 2 weeks post and everything is going very well. I'm very blessed and grateful to my donor and his/her family which I didn't meet and they wanted to remain anonymous. I will forever be grateful to them and God! Praise God. I can't tell you how much my faith kept strong throughout this process. They say faith is unseen and I agree, ut on March 12, I saw faith and it was amazing. AMEN!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! So happy for you. Yes, without God where would we be! I also have a strong faith in God and am so grateful - am 19+ post transplant. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your 2nd transplant! A true GIFT of LIFE!

We have to have faith and believe in God. I pray every day for someone to step up and offer to be a donor for me. Congrats to you and good luck in finding a donor.

I waited 10 yrs and got that call. Come to find out I was told to take a pass on the kidney by the surgeon because my own kidneys were inflamed weighing 7 pound each. I had to set up surgery to get both removed first because there was mo room for the new one. I was both disappointed and happy because I’m 5 feet tall and looked very pregnant. Needless

Wow thats amazing. Yea praise the Lord. My story is somewhat similar with my dad being the donor when I was 5. It didnt last too long but has my 2nd transplant from a friend almost 8 years ago. Still steady and hope for a long kidney life for the both of us. Thank God!!
