Greg Oravec.....A kidney story.
He needs a transplant. He is my hero of the year. Although his kidney disease lasted 20 years before his kidney failed him in the fall of 2016, he has kept up his job, family, hobbies and basically being an awesome dad for any of his kids. Rarely does he complain to any of them. I have to mention too that he is so giving with everyone and his humor is still alive and well. However, he won’t ask for help because of his independent pride.
On April 15th, 2017 when his kidney function was only at 7% the inevitable happened and he had to start dialysis. Because this big hearted man still lives such a productive, successful and intelligent life they tell him 2 1/2 to 3 years until he will get the transplant. Now the painful dialysis isn't working and absorbing as it should, so it would be a miracle if someone can please help and donate a kidney.
Even if you don't match his exact kidney, if someone donates one in his name to the donor bank, then he will get the proper match kidney transplant sooner than three years. I know he doesn't want to scare his kids by letting them know how bad it is, but I know. I spend nights with him plugged into the machine. I would love to be able to help. This is the best way. I can only hope a news channel or someone of great influence will also be able to spread the word.
