Hi there! I'm looking to get in contact with someone similar to myself... another active, healthy female (I'm a runner, hiker, etc) who donated around the age of 35 (the age I will be at time of potential donation).
I'm curious how long ago you donated and what your experience was like. Did you experience any significant lifestyle changes, or are you able to be just as active as you were pre-donation?
I've also delivered 2 children via c-section and wondering how the donation recovery compares to c-section recovery.
I currently have a 10 month old and a 4 year old. Am I crazy to donate while caring for such young children, or is it doable with the right help and support?
Any input would be appreciated! Thank you

Hi, I donated at 28 — 6 months ago today! I’ve had no problems returning to my normal activities with some time. While I have no children, I am happy to discuss any questions you’d like over messenger.
Congratulations on wanting to become a donor and do something so wonderful for someone else! I personally donated at 43 almost 16 years ago. I have not had any changes in what I can or can not do since....other than the emotional high! I am a Donor Mentor for NKDO (National Kidney Donation Organization - nkdo.org) associated with NKR (National Kidney Registry). NKF (National Kidney Foundation) also has their mentors associated with NKR and if you register through NKR for donation, you too, can have a mentor and get to speak to someone in your situation. We have several mentors who run - marathons, ironman events and even extreme events like hiking up Mt. Kilimanjaro! There are some mothers too.
