This is the art of kidney dialysis. The machine doesn't know it is connected to a person. It is only performing as instructed. You need to know when the machine pulls too much fluid. When your blood pressure falls low or you feel small cramps usually in hands or legs call your technician or RN and ask them to lower the fluid removal goal or turn the ultrafiltration off. You can stay on yor machine and get your full measure of blood cleaning. Learn what being "dry" feels like and shoot for it. It is also worth noting that pH balance is restored about an hour after you get off the machine. Pulling too much fluid symptoms like low bp and cramping can last all day and don't get me started on the effects it can have on brain and heart. Get that dry weight in the right place you will be glad you did. Best of luck to you.
