It's easy! The tubing connects to the cycler (via a cartridge) which gently and automatically pumps the solution to the right places - including the toilet. The tubing for waste can range from around 12 to 24 feet or so. You order the length(s) you need. Here's a great video providing step-by-step instructions. The part regarding tubing and toilet is at the 7:00 minute mark. The narrator uses a "clip" to attach the tubing to the commode. In our case, the clip wasn't wide enough to accommodate our toilet rim so we simply taped it down. Please note that this lady uses the Amia cycler. This the the "cadillac" of cyclers. Try to get it for yourself. Your center may fume and fuss, but more and more people are getting them. youtube.com/watch?v=OrYewHH...
Thanks so much, Darlenia. I am going to watch the video now. I have a Liberty machine which has been ok. I had to return the first one for malfunction. Did'nt know about the Amia and will inquire my clinic. You are the best!
So glad to hear how well this is going! And, great tips! I’m planning to drain fluid directly into my toilet as well. Do you have to save one bag of drain fluid for your dialysis clinic to analyze? If so, how often do you have to do this?Jayhawker
Glad to hear you are doing so well. Its a relief to have someone have a positive experience. I was getting anxious about doing PD after reading about so many people having difficulties. Thank you for sharing. Hope you continue to thrive
Sound like you are figuring it out. Instead of the tape, there is a clip that fastens on the edge of th toilet. They come in different sizes to fit your toilet. Go on line & search for drain clips. My first one did not fit & the company replaced it for free. Keep the one for traveling - it may or not work wherever you go but who knows? If the clip does t work - I too set up my machine late in the afternoon, so getting ready for bed is easy.
