Hemodialysis Side Effects

90days into Hemodialysis 3 times a week, 3h 15 mins duration.

1. Head ace starts 15 mins after treatments, which last hours, sometimes days.

2. Within 30 mins into headache it changes to an Ocular Migraine.

3. Dizziness starts within the hour.

4. Extreme fatigue starts around 3 hours after, which can last 1 to 2 days.

5. My vision also changes like looking through grey fog.

6. About 5 hours after I have trouble accessing language and I cannot think or reason through simple tasks.

These symptoms can last from 3-4 hours and as long as 36 hours!

I do know this the longer the Dialysis the longer side effects last.

Hi AlanKx5, are your symptoms better now? Have your dialysis nurse or doctor helped address some of your symptoms? I was on PD not HD so the treatment was more gentle, but there are pros and cons for the different treatments. Is that an option that you have spoken with your nephrologist about?
